      <title>World-class biomaterials scientists to present</title>
	  <subTitle>Top biomaterials scientists at Biomaterials Asia 2009</subTitle>
      <description>Biomaterials Asia 2009 conference is different; it is highly structured in order to maximise the benefits of attendees and speakers.

The Conference Chair and one of the plenary speakers is Professor David Williams, Editor-in-Chief of Biomaterials, world renowned biomaterials scientist, former head of clinical engineering at the University of Liverpool, UK and now Director of International Affairs, Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine, USA and Visiting Professor in Cape Town, Sydney and Beijing.

The Opening Ceremony will be addressed by YS Chi, Vice President of Elsevier and Seeram Ramakrishnan, Vice  President of the National University of Singapore.

From Asia, keynote speakers in the plenary sessions will include Teruo Okano, from Tokyo, who will discuss his ground breaking work on cell sheet engineering,  Yilin Cao,  who will present aspects of the clinical innovations in regenerative medicine undertaken in the Shanghai Tissue Engineering Research Centre, Si-Shen Feng of the National University of Singapore who will present the latest work on chemotherapeutic nanotechnology , from Taiwan, Kien Wen Sun will discuss molecular self assembly and Byung Soo Kim from Seoul will describe latest developments in therapeutic angiogenesis.

Speakers from outside of Asia will include Sam Stupp, (Chicago) a world authority on self assembly, Andres Zisch (Zurich) who will discuss fibrin matrices for tissue engineering, Tony Weiss, (Sydney), another world authority on fibrous proteins, and Howard Greisler (also Chicago) who will entertain the audience on the importance of endothelialisation of intravascular devices.

Do not be surprised to see several of these speakers in the running for Nobel Prizes in the future.
